Fuel Mileage
I am getting horrible fuel mileage on my 4.2. something like 12-14 how about anyone else?

i get 10 on my 5.4, so that on a 6 isnt to hot man
|
ya get bot 12 empty and 9 wen i pull my trailer
|
when I cruise down I-95 between Fort Lauderdale and Miami with no traffic I can get upwards of 16-20 I would guess. But when I drive through the city or traffic, I swear I get maybe 13ish. Does seem a little pathetic for a v6 compared to the v8 and their size/power difference.
|
I think even my interstate cruising is like 15-16 at most on my 4.6.
|
it's enough to survive by for now, I'll be able to pay off my truck while only reaching around 140k miles. from that point I can start saving up for a v8 build/swap.

I'm getting about 22 MPG in my 4.2 with conservative driving and 19 if I just drive normally fast. But I have factory size radials @50 psi and have recently cleaned the injectors with Seafoam. Plus new wires.

city driving w/ my 4.2 is about 15 maybe 20 on highway.i ddont think its any better than that.the 30 gallon tank makes it seem to go farther.

In town 11.5 to 12.5 and hwy is like 14 to 15

That doesn't sound quite right I would say... In my lifted f150 4.6 I'm running stock gears and 35s, and on the highway I get around 20, believe it or not. I drive it everyday and haven't filled up in 2 weeks. Need to tho. Depends on how you drive it. How is your air pressure in your tires? I run mine at 45psi with no harsh ride and no weird tire wear. I also run mobil 1 10w30. Looking to go royal purple in the diff once I swap gears and royal purple in the engine. Maybe you do the same...? Man that's about all I could suggest other than changing your o2 sensors if it's been awhile...
