No shocks on a IFS vehicle is dangerous. Now when you start talking about a SAS swap with leaf springs there is not much room for movement in the suspension vertically , but latterally there is.

thank you for all the tips

I do not have leaf springs in the front i have spindles and coil springs

but no i do not have extended upper control arms

i figured out what the knocking noise was after i took the shocks out and it was caused by the upper control arm hitting the coil spring mount when the suspension would try to move up and down. so i ground off what looked like a wedge on the upper control and gave it a little bit more play

now how do i go about getting new shocks for the front and back since i need longer ones

Go to your parts store and order the shocks you want for your truck and say +3 or how ever much lift you have.
