Default Front end Suspension

I have a 2003 ford f150 2wd. i have installed a 3.5 spindle lift and a 3 inch coil spring spacer on top of my original coil springs. i have 35*12.50*17 toyo open country M/T tires and a 3 inch block in the rear. all the shocks are stock. but the truck rides like a bucking bronco its stiffer than a cement block and i dont know why. i took out my front shocks today and it might of rode a little bit better but not much but after i took them out i heard alot of noise coming from the front end it sounded like two metal objects hitting. im looking for any ideas what to do to make my ride a lil bit smoother i have about a half inch play in the front end suspension

Oh boy .. lol .. first off do you have extended upper control arms, and if so, did you grind the bump stops off?

Using a 3" coil spacer you have maxed out the upper ball joint. You will need after market upper control arms to run anything bigger than 2.5" spacer or springs. Secondly with a block and spacer you will need shocks that are longer to compensate for the travel there are bottoming out.

You do realize removing your shocks is dangerous right? Theyre a key to control on your vehicle

Actually, it is dangerous to run without them. Your expanding the distance it takes you to stop, as well as adding ware on front end components like ball joints, and bearings. The main point being stopping distance in this case. Im not calling you out or trying to start a pissing match, just saying is all.

It also allows more movement in the suspension and could possibly cause the tires to "float" and cause an accident or rollover. I have seen it happen before. You may not think you notice anything but it IS happening and IS dangerous.

Do you have leafs in the front on your truck/solid axle? I have ran no shocks briefly on a 94 f350 and it didn't affect the handling much. So I see where your coming from. Not sure what it would be like on the ifs trucks...probably have more of an effect.
