Default Front bearing change

Hello All,

I am about to do a from bearing change on my 97 F150 2x4 2 wheel ABS truck. I have been doing some research over the last couple days however i wanted to see if anyone could double check the list of things im about to purchase.

2 - Carquest Wearever Brake Rotor - Front Part No: YH145240
2 - Driveworks Oil Seal Part No: S-4148
2 - Driveworks Taper Bearing Set Part No: S-A-12
2 - Driveworks Taper Bearing Set Part No: S-A-18
1 - CARQUEST Grease and Lube Hi-Temp Disc Brake Wheel Bearing Grease, 26 oz. Part No: 814-16
1 - Wearever Silver Semi-Metallic Brake Pads - Front (4-Pad Set) Part No: MKD679

I believe I have verified all parts are for my correct model truck (2WD and 2 Wheel ABS) is there anything im missing that i might need or any tips and recommendation that you guys have for this process. I do well in rearing most things in my vehicles but i must say i have never done this type of bearings.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm going to throw my .02 cents on this one. Your part numbers are fine. This brand called "driveworks", I've never heard of. If you want to do the job once and only once, buy a name brand of bearings. Timkin, SKF are usually USA made, and not the crap being imported. Check you brands and where they are made. Chinese bearings don't last under pressure load.

Driveworks is the equivalent of Autozone's Valucraft. Only use it to sell the vehicle.

Just google some reviews....

Like AK said, you're best bet is Timken, National, or SKF. Since these are for a 2wd, Torrington is also top quality - and they are now owned by Timken.

Whitey....did you know that BCA/Bower/National are now more Chinese than US or Mexico made. It's anything with Borg Warner/Eichlin/Standard/BCA and the list goes on that are all owned by one company. Cheap is the biggie for cost, but the selling price for name brand parts, no matter their origin, is expensive.

Ok, I just priced National bearings, seals, Raybestos rotor, and even threw in a set of Bosch ceramic pads, and it only totalled 101.00 plus postage. These were all name brand parts, and not the other lesser quality branded stuff. Here is my list from Rock Auto. I didn't include any lube.

Sorry, I didn't catch the 2 rotors, so just add for that. It is still top of the line brands, that's my point and the cost is right there.

I think i've used the some driveworks products with no issues in the past but for 20 bucks more i switched them out to the National per your recommendations.

Anybody bought any parts from 1Aauto. I've stumbled several times into their videos and are very helpful. Thoughts on the link below?

@akdoggie you are right. Seems to be that rockauto has a better brands for about 10 bucks more including shipping compared to advance auto.

Hmm i got some thinking to do.

The cheap 12 pk of beer price difference, to me, isn't worth the work a second time. I'd say spend the $10 on the quality parts. Make your bud's buy the beer.
