Default Freeze plug on the water pump?

98 F150 4x4 4.6 V8, 193k miles, none stock.

Hello, first post.

My heater core was leaking at one time, bad. Unfortunately, I never fixed it, just continually added water and no antifreeze. Of course it froze eventually. It popped out 2 freeze plugs. I removed the transmission, and replaced the freeze plugs, and put it back together only to find that I had 3 cracks in the block. One crack was right on the "water pump housing" of the block, and the other two were a little further back in the valley.

I just sealed it up with jb weld, and hopefully it will buy some time.

So my question is this: As I was putting it back together today, I noticed the water pump had what appears to be a freeze plug on the front. It's was perfectly intact. I had previously replaced the water pump a couple years ago with an after market one. Since the plug didn't pop out, and my block cracked as a result in my opinion, would anyone expect that I would have any warranty claim on my cracked motor? Any thoughts?

Not sure if this is serious or not...

From what I gather from your comments, this was all caused by your negligent act of running straight water. IMO, you have no case, whatsoever. It has nothing to do with the water pump. The warranty on the pump is for the pump, period. They are not responsible for any damages caused by your poor maintenance and lack thereof.

BTW, I'd be looking for a motor. I doubt that JB Weld is going to do what you want it to.

Yeah lol the question was serious. And you'e correct, it was ultimately caused by a neglected repair.

It's true that had I done my job, it wouldn't have cracked. It's also true that if the plug on the pump had done it's job, it wouldn't have cracked. At least not right there.

Didn't know if anyone had a similar experience. Thanks for the reply.

And yes I'm looking for a motor. I don't think this is a long term thing.
