Default Fixed Brake lights inside Steering Column but..

I have a 2000 Ford F150 V8 4.6L 4wd single cab. Automatic.
I had the brake light at the rear of the top of the cab working but the rears next to my tailgate not working. I wiggled the steering column and they would work but only sometimes. I researched on here and found that the problem was within the steering column.
I opened the steering column up and the grey plug on the top of the column was half out. The clips that hold it in were broken. So....after reading a little tip on here...I jammed in some small slivers of plastic to hold the grey plug in. Did the job and the rear brake lights are now perfect.
BUT....just bellow the ignition was a small wire that had come out from somewhere...and I don't know where. Does anyone recognize this little wire and where does it go? Pics attached.
Thanks

OK, found out on a 2000 wiring map that tells me it's a 12v Accessory Wire. (red/black) Am I correct in saying that it's there only for accessaries and it does nothing if not used? Possibly hence why it's just dangling.

No, that goes in your ignition switch (the key tumbler). It is what makes your bell chime when you've left the keys in the ignition.
