Default First time Transmission pan drop 205k miles!

Probably cursed myself but my 01 Screw has 205k miles on the clock and runs just as good as new, trans still shifts perfect and motor does not leak, burn,or drip! This long holiday weekend I decided it was time to drop the trans pan to see if it had ever been done and my assumptions were correct! The plastic OEM little plug was still laying in the pan, fluid looked good considering the mileage and only a slight grey residue needed cleaned out of the bottom of the pan/magnet.

Here are some before and after pics just to keep it interesting...

Hoping it still shifts as well when I'm done! Had to take a beer break and post the pics! Just about to refill it with fresh fluid now...

That grey residue was most likely metal shaving, wich is completely normal. (Thats why they put magnets in em) but congrats on the great running truck. Built ford tough!

Yes. Used during the mold. When they push the filler tube in that comes out and ends up in the pan. Doesn't cause any harm but lets us know that if we have one, the pan hasn't been dropped before.

Its true with any vehicle, I believe. I work with my dad, and we've dropped pans on other vehicles and see the same plug.

It really wasn't that bad looking of fluid, it was just that residue setting in the pan that made it look dark. I was honestly shocked of the condition with that many miles.

I think I put back about 5-6 quarts and no, didn't drain the converter.
