Nite Shade is illegal in TX so I went to hobby lobby and got some model transparent glass paint in black, and wet clear in model paint as well. Really close to the same stuff Nite Shade is, and a 600 grit sand paper and 1500 grit.
Wash the lights and dry them.
Light scuff the light with the 600 grit. Use your palm not your fingers. Repeat process with the 1600 grit. I taped my back up light off. I applied 6 coats and 3 coats of clear. Then I am going to compound it out. You can opt. to use the 1500 grit in between coats to get imperfections out. I didnt have any thank goodness. Its really not that hard. just take your time.

Here are the pics! Still going to do some more compounding on them.

And I decided to go ahead and do the third brake light as well.

Looks like you did a nice job. Good idea with the Hobby Lobby approach.

Thanks they turned out really nice! And they look awesome at night! With the transparent paint you can see the red so Its less likely I will get a ticket. There like the tint I put on my wifes cobalt.

heres a pic of it:

Thanks I need to do some more compounding though. Any suggestions? Should I just use it by hand? I have a Buffer but its high speed. I use it mainly to bring paint back out. I have a smaller powered one. I just dont wanna mess things up.

thanks! They only cost me 60.00 to do, and that was buying another set of lights paint and sand paper. I had the tape already. It is a slow process, but the truck looks really good now! I just need to get those clear corners in!
