Default Finally found the issue!!! I hope

I deleted my old threads bc i think i found the issue, So i found my compression tester and decided to use it on the ford, and heres the results
Cyl 1-110
Cyl2 -110
Cyl3 -140
Cyl4 -120
Cyl5 -125
Cyl6 -180
Cyl7 -145
Cyl8 -125
when i pulled plug for cyl's 1 and 2, they were both in very bad shape, and clearly need replaced, plugs 3-8 were good and got an okay amount of compression i think, and cyl 6 has high compression, im no expert on these so im gonna leave it up to jbrew or someone with more knowledge than me to tell me whats going on here, but i think my mission to find the issue is over hopefully

You should retry the compression test but put a couple drops of oil in each cylinder first. That will let you know if the rings are bad or not. Report back if the compression goes up or stays the same.

If they go up your rings are bad and you're probably going to rebuild the bottom half. If they stay the same your valve seats or head gasket are most likely bad and you're rebuilding the top half.

Either way you're most likely got an engine rebuild or replacement in your future.

just get like a regular bottle of oil and pour a few drops in each plug hole?

and piston rings are bad, ill just rebuild it instead of replace

Deleted your old threads ? We can only wish, but it didn't happen.

The engines a fail, - if you preformed the procedure properly. - 180max by 75% is 135min, so it's toast. Pretty much all you can do now is narrow down why. I would test it more than once, specially #6.

BTW, - remember how you did this as it's how you determine whether a used engine is worthy purchase and your time.

well i found a complete rebuild kit bottom and top end, and as i have several vehicles to drive in the down time, in gonna go with a rebuild most likely, i know the engine is screwed now but any way to tell what part of the engine caused this, worn piston rings ect

Gee if only someone had already mentioned doing a wet compression test to see if rings were bad or valve seats or head gasket...
I don't know why I even bothered...

I wouldn't do it or suggest it under most circumatances. The easy, cheap, much less time consuming and most beneficial is a used but worthy replacement. You just learned how to confirm that, put the knowledge to use and do yourself some good.
