Same here man, my single din clarion with Bluetooth puts out amazing pre-amp signal, but I would like to go with a double din in the near feature. Pioneer has always been know for producing great sounding pre-amps, so I wouldn't have to sacrifice anything.

pioneer's new lineup that they demoed at CES should be out this month I think. Pricey, but might be worth checking out or at least waiting a little bit for the prices on the older models to drop some.

I've seen them, but I really don't get the hype. You can achieve much more out of a JBL Sound Processor or Audison Bit Ten

Pioneer's pre-amp's are garbage. Rated at 5 volts on most of the high end an only actually put out 2-3. I have to use a line driver to get clearer signals to my amps.

I think the new ones were intended to be designed with a sound processor merged into your system.

I'm actually contemplating doing this. But I'll use a HDD Nav radio from a navigator or Expedition. As My radio opening wont utilize the factory style locks anymore

Ya I may upgrade to the larger expy unit later since it will utilize the exact same hardware minus the mounting
