IF its for a amp you will need a line output converter. You can use it right behind the radio. Just splice it in the harness when you build it.
I've used these in the past.

The line output converter looks the way to go. Just ordered it. Now to tap in a usb or aux input to the escape radio
Edit: I canceled it because it is scosche. Any other brand you would suggest?

PAC makes one also. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...PAC-LP3-2.html
Looks promising. I would run this: Video Link: http://www.amazon.com/DQL-8-AudioControl-Converter-Auxiliary-Processing/dp/B001UDIFS0

Well the escape forum guy is neglecting the sale so I got a nicer unit. Everything's ordered and should be here within a week. Hopefully it is all installed and working for my weekend work trip to test
Now I'm a bit screwed when it comes to map downloads. Someone from Ford told me I could only have 1 region on at a time? But I will be doing a lot of traveling between IL, KY, and Indiana. Three different CDs cover this little region I'll be in. Map region 7, 8, and 6

Glad you found a nice head jferg. Looks like you got all your bases covered. I only use one map, so I didn't think of the area coverage that much. Did you find your maps? If not I think I can find a couple of those in a case I had laying around. If I do, I'll let you know, that is if you need them. I can't promise, because I moved, but I will give it my best effort to find them if you need them. I certainly won't. lol. Alaska is a far bit off and out of your zone. lol

What is wrong with Schoshe? Good company. I like them much better than Metra, and their packages are easier to read. I wish I could find more of their brand up here.

If you look at the pictures, you see what map 6, 7, and 8 regions covers. Hopefully I can upload multiples.
I have been pointed in a different direction from that brand. I have their amplifier wiring kit and like it though

If someone wants to try a really cheap way of doing this, ebay has a radio today, missing *****, for 39. Here is that link if anyone is interested. It would make a cheap way to try this mod if someone was wanting to try this on the cheap..

Jferg---The plastic inside the dash is self explanatory once you remove the original radio. It is just cut across the back and the two side parts and it comes right out.
