Hello All,

I have just picked up an old 97 Stepside. Nice running truck however my bed / box side panels are loose. I have no autobody experience but looks as if the bed itself is steel and the outer panels are fiberglass with a steel inside skin...

In any case the bed is in great shape but the side panels are a bit loose. I can move them back and forth with my hand. This is causing problems for my tailgate alignment.

I am wondering if anyone here has experience with this and could tell me how these attach as I cannot see where or how these attach. I am hoping I can maybe just tighten these and to fix my issue.

You can pop off the rail caps by prying from the rear forward. Under the rail caps are a series of bolts that bolt the fiberglass bedside to the steel bed.
