and I guess it could be a 4wd with the badges gone cause they are aftermarket wheels it looks like but the hubs are covered which I have seen done which doesn't make sense

Some of the older diesels had the power stroke badge on the front of the fender just behind the headlight like the V10 and 5.4 had.

Makes me miss my'01. Can't beat that V10 for torque, except with a diesel of course.
I'm thinking gasser too

Whoops, I didn't even notice the pump handle, so that narrows it down to 5.4 or 6.8. Something is throwing me off on whether it's a 4X4 or a 2WD though, like was mentioned the hubs are covered therefore that might be throwing me off. But it looks like a 2WD to me because the 4WDs have a solid front axle with tie rods, I think that's what they're called, coming off the rear of the axle and attaching to the frame. Te 2WDs don't have them, at least I've never seen them on the 2WDs, from the picture hear I can't see the tie rods and that makes me believe it's a lifted 2WD. Wouldn't be the first time I was wrong though, lol.

Better hope DOT never sees that you've used off road diesel in your truck, that's a pretty hefty fine, at least here in GA it is. And they will randomly pull anyone driving a first over and run a dipstick down their fuel spout to check here. That red die lasts even after the diesel is gone, I can't remember how long, but even if you use regular diesel after using off road diesel once the due lingers for a whole. Just a heads up.

That suspension has torsion bars(think that's the technical term) and 2wd from that age have them too
