Is the expy swap really worth it?

The expy swap is definitely worth it. I can haul my truck down from freeway speeds very quick. I've been on them fully at 90 and never had an issue with warping either. Sometimes I'm surprised how good they are.

I hear you, we both conceal carry, probably shouldn't say this but without a permit. I don't trust anyone, anywhere.

Every time I tested the Expy brakes that hairdo would be bobbling back and forth. My kid said it looked like a pissed off bee hive. The ladies horn was messed up, sounded like a bunch of bees.

The brake feel alone is worth it.
Not to mention that I can slam on them and come to a stop real damn quick.

Now an XLT in Colorado
Yeah. I still don't understand what ford was thinking when they put less heavy duty brakes on a truck that's more likely to be towing than an SUV that's probably just gonna be hauling people around most of the time.

And is it worth looking for calipers, etc. At a U-Pull-n-Pay?
Thanks,
Andy

Rotors- $117 w/ $40 off discount from Advance Auto Parts, final price $82 total
Calipers- $38.79 w/ $35 core charge each, total after core charge refund $77.58
Pads- $26.79
Rubber brake lines- $13.36 per front line, $13.75 for rear line, total for all 3 $40.47
Total: $226.84
I got my rotors from advance Auto since they were cheaper with the discount, I could pick them up same day, and it significantly reduced the price of shipping for the rest of my stuff coming from RockAuto.
I replaced all 3 rubber lines in the system also, as they were the factory original lines and could use a replacement after 20ish years of being on the truck.
Personally, I would much rather pay the price for the new parts instead of a parts yard, seeing you get brand new or remaned parts, you get a warranty in case anything goes wrong or breaks, and you don't have to deal with cleaning up the old parts along with having to potentially worry about whether this or that seal might be leaking or might go bad not far down the road after getting it all put back together.
