Factory trailer brake
ok so i read about the requirements for being able to have the factory trailer brake hooked up, i have the origonal window sticker and it has the tow package, trans cooler, 7/4 pin plugs and hitch, so now the next question.. how much is it gona cost to get the factory trailer brake module, and does it have to be hooked up by a registered ford dealership? i think i read something about a ford dealership having to plug into the truck and turn it on or somethin? any help appreciated thanks

no, you can buy any aftermarket brake controller. and no ford doesn't have to turn anything on. Being that you already have the 7-pin will make it much easier for you to hook up a controller. I have heard a lot of great things about prodigy. You'll need a harness adapter for a ford vehicle. The place you buy the controller from should sell them too, just look for it. The harness adapter plugs into a connector right underneath the dash. it's easy to find.

i read so many good things about the factory ford brake controller, a lot of guys were saying it was the best brake controller they have ever used , including aftermarket, any truth to this? aftermarket would probably be cheaper right?
