Just purchased a 1999 F-150 three months ago with 120,000 miles, a month after purchase the radiator was leaking and replaced by the dealer. Now, yesterday engined sounded strange but drove ok, drove it home from work and it drove fine then started sputtering before leaving me stranded on the side of the road -- Opened hood to find a spark plug ouside striped -- I'm told that issues with replacing parts under the head is common in the F-150's of the late 99's and 2000 models -- I found no information on this from recall reports -- any comments from anyone?

Was the best in 2006 and (little bit newer model) still is.

Only if they didn't come from places where they salt the roads

But I agree, that's why I'm still driving a 19-year-old truck. The weakness is our well-known, and it doesn't nickel and dime you with other things failing. The interior holds up extremely well also.

Most parts is also relatively cheap and available, which is a big advantage over import vehicles that really need the OEM $$$ part
