If you read the entire post, the solenoid only initiates when the key is turned over. So I don't think that is overloading it when a substained load for 2 seconds (only when the starter is rolling over). Actually, that is what it is made for!

And please show me mathematically or phsycially how a 130 amp alt can do this. I am not being pretentious, just factual.

130amp alt has the capability of producing an approx. max of 1800 watts. So, assume my stereo is running at 1/2 capacity. Thats about 1200-1300, not to mention about 200 watts of continuous bulbs, the ignition coils, and many many more. And also note: the main purpose of the alt is not to charge the battery as everyone likes to think. The alt's primary purpose is to supply the system, thus so your battery doesn't drain. It just so happens your batttery is charged when current from the alt isnt exceeded. You can think of the battery as merely reserve power and purley for cranking, it is not inteded to solely power electronics.

Your battery also helps to limit peaks and spikes in current produced from your alt.

And I apologize in advance for saying ignition. It is actually the lead from the ignition that is only active when the key is turned over for starter. So it only recieives the "turn on" signal when the key is pushed over, then it returns to inactive once the truck is cranked and the starter is done rolling.

Other than being able to mount them upside down and that they are dry cells I don't really know. They are 800 cca a piece. I was young and dumb when I bought them. Wouldn't waste the money again on them so when they die I wont be replacing them.

I've had a few friends run the yellow top's, and they love them. IMO they are worth the money.

However; Deka, Cat, and Interstate all make fairly good batteries too. I just went with the Mega-Tron plus for the 1000CA and under 200 price tag.

Good choice. 3 years of service out of mine so far and had no issues
