Expedition brake swap
Okay so I've read countless posts about these brakes. I'm about to change them tomorrow, bought the new pads, rotors, and calipers. Is there any tips yall have? Is it really as simple as swapping or am I gonna need to get different brake lines? Just want some confirmation before I tackle it. Also, my wheel bearing will fit just fine aswell?Thank you. 97 f150 ext cab 2wd 4.6. The brakes I got were for an 02 expedition 2wd

All you need is the calipers, caliper brackets, rotors, and pads. The only thing I can tell you (as wolvve found out) is don't put them on backwards lol. It is just a simple caliper / brake swap, no new lines are needed.

It's an easy and straight forward swap. Use the opportunity to clean out and replace your brake fluid.

Appreciate all the help. I'll go and pickup the caliper brackets because I forgot to get those. My only other question was the bearings which no one answered, these will fit since I got the 2wd expedition correct? Will upload some pictures of the install once I am done

The bearings should be the same but it would be good form to change them anyway. ..if you can swing it of course.
When I do stuff like this I try to replace everything I can at once to eliminate having to tear things apart again.
The brackets, if I'm not mistaken are around $18 ea.

Went pretty smoothly, had to get different lug nuts (14mm x2) because I originally had 12mm. Also got new wheel bearings. Overall happy with it, and they look fresh and new.
Old, much smaller. And hardly any rotor/pad left
Size comparison in calipers
Final product
