Question Exhaust redo question

I took off my muffler and put a cherrybomb glasspack on. When I was using the stock tailpipe from muffler back it was pretty loud. Last night I redid the pipe and made a straight shot with a small curve in it at the end. Now it is really quiet. Did my straight through redo cause this? what are other aggressive sounding muffler that you can buy at advance auto, or auto zone?

the more bends you put in a pipe the more turbulance it causes making it louder. the stock pipe had more bends then the one you made. if you want it louder just remove the cherrybomb and run strait pipe.

ya i had a guy wanting his chev truck louder and didnt care about flow so i ran the pipe after the glass packs in a cool X with lots of bends before the axle then after the axle a sharp bend out the sides behind the tires. one of the loudest small block trucks i have ever done!! he was happy!!

Just because its loud doesnt mean its moving any faster... That why i like my setup. Not very loud and will get out of its own fater than most. Hell when it was running right it would bark the tires on the 1-2, 2-3 shift..

Another vote for power running boards. The deal on my lariat was too hard to pass up and it didn't have them - so I'll be adding them in the near future from Amp, but if I had my druthers, I would have gotten them factory installed. Also cheaper!

I added a 3030sB powerstick from classic Chambered exhaust.
Loved the sound.

I havn't tried a powerstick yet, but that's the only place I buy clamps from, best clamps I've used to date. The entire exhaust on the 98 truck is quick change, thanks to those Torca clamps, and I mean quick! From the headers back anyway. From the moment I have a 15mm ratchet wrench in hand, I can have the Y on the bench in 4.5 minutes. Their sleeve clamps don't leak either. Those guys make some great products.
