Default Exhaust question

Hey guys,

I have a 2002 F150 5.4 Screw. The exhaust that is on the truck now is about rusted out. I was thinking about putting a full exhaust on. Any recommendations? This is my DD.

Thanks,
Alan

What are you wanting out of this? Performance or racquet?

Real men go with dual straight pipes. 2.5 inch pipes, 3.5 inch tips and 45 degree behind the BFG's. Happy to help.

Performance can't hurt. But I don't care for it to be to damn loud.

I have emissions in my state. So not sure if that would work.

As do I. Go with a 'cat back' install and you'll be fine. I didn't do it for compliments but I get them everywhere I go.

I would say magnaflow all day. You get a decent gain all around. I have the si/so 14" magnaflow and you can't really hear it in the truck unless wot or the radio completely off. But it sounds sweet outside. So I cut the cats and it improved greatly in sound and performance. If you want it kinda loud flowmasters but they have rust problems and take away performance which is dumb IMO.

They have flow masters on it now. But the damn cat back is completely rusted. I'm afraid its going to fall off one day.

Anyone replaced the cats and mid pipes?

They look like they could use replaced as well.

Just telling it to you the way it is man, but don't expect performance gains from exhaust alone. Anyone that says otherwise... Sorry but they are just plain wrong. Add exhaust for sound, and a muffler muffles, that's what it does.

not really worried about making my truck perform. That's what my car is for. Just looking to make it sound better and of course replace the rusted out exhaust.

Thank you for your advice.
