Default Exhaust/Muffler Question!

I have a 2000 scab 4.6. I believe the piping is 2.5 inch? If i purchase a muffler, what size should I get? I plan on keeping a SISO set up. Im 17 and dont know much. My dad has a garage with a hoist and welders so welding or clamping wouldn't be a problem I just wanna know what size muffler and clamping vs welding.
Thanks! (Planning on a magnaflow or flowmaster)

Im gonna go out on a limb and assume you want it loud. I have a 4.6 as well and simply cutting off everything before the muffler and clamping on a flowmaster 10 series made me happy. Its plenty loud and fairly compact. Of course welding is far superior to clamps so certainly go that route.

I would get it welded so you know it is done right. I have the flowmaster 10 series on my truck (I have a 4.6L engine too) and it is not insanely loud but it gives a nice tone.

Hows the drone in the cab with that muffler Red-Ford I think I'm gonna go with a SIDO magnapack setup but your setup sounds pretty darn good and I know they make SIDO super 10s

Yesterday I installed a SIDO system on my 02 with a 5.4. I ordered a system from a vendor on ebay and had it shipped to my door for $185.00.

I have a buddy who has a lift in his garage and with the truck on the lift it took us just over 2 hours to do everything from cutting out the previous system to installing the new system and then welding all the connections.

I love the look of my dual tips sticking out under the rear bumper and the truck sounds awesome. I completely understand that there is no real world advantage to a SIDO system and that it's mostly just for looks but I like it and that's all that matters to me.

Sounds really good in cab, and it is 2.5" in and out. I don't have an exhaust tip, just one of those things that are on the list in REALLY small writing right now lol.
