It'll be loud, but sound like ***. True duals sound terrible and ragged on these trucks, especially with nothing but a muffler or cat on there. I'd leave what you've got.

I probally will its sounds great and loud ive had plenty of people at school tell me my truck aint the loudest but its the best sounding in the parkin lot. Its just not loud enough for me but id rather have a truck that sounds good and not the loudest than one thats really loud and sounds like ****.

Yeah it's better to sound good than be loud. My new setup is quite a bit quieter than it used to be, however the sound quality is much better.

Might just be about muffler quality, and amount of cats. The ones I've heard with any amount of cats gone had a ragged sound

I tried the true dual setup with long tubes and it sounded like complete **** because of the different length pipes. Even with a X-pipe in place. The Y-pipe serves a purpose on a truck. Now a setup similar to a mustang would still sound good on these trucks but there is almost no way to get the pipes before a crossover the same length.

I'm fairly new here and have been learning a lot. You guys are real intelligent about these trucks. I have a question for you guys. My truck is a stock 02 SuperCrew 5.4 and I've been looking into changing just the muffler (maybe add a tip later on). I've read a lot about the Flowmaster 40 and Super 44 and I don't know which to pick. The YouTube videos I listened to seem to make the 40 not sound to loud and the 44 pretty good. I don't want a loud abnoxius drone inside the cab either.

In short...I'm 16 and want a louder truck, but I'm not a knucklehead that wants to be heard a mile away, just a nice V8 rumble. So what do I choose. Thanks in advance!

Really if you're wanting a louder decent sound without drone I'd do a muffler delete, or cat back straight pipes it could be called. It'll turn the volume up without being obnoxious or droning. It'll be fairly quiet at idle but wind out louder

I was thinking that, but I don't know if a muffler is a requirement in CT. I don't want to start some BS with cops or anybody. Also, all the videos I've seen of no muffler had a crackle, which I don't like.
