Hey fellas, anyone have a link to the most thorough write up on swapping a 5.4 S/C into a '01 5.4 4x4? I've found a couple threads but none seem to be comprehensive enough as far as parts lists and whatnot. Thanks in advanced

Well said.

I wouldn't for just the ring and no belt. Do you have the hub?

no the deal on LR is non-responsive. He is always online and on other threads but has ignored posts and pm's about his sale. Fulfilling the lightning crowd stereotype

This $50 ring is on ebay.

I think a "how to build a lightning 101" would be a good thread lol

I'm sure there are other threads to look at besides daves and mine but if someone needs bolt by bolt instruction then you prob shouldn't attempt it. Take an intake off put one on..add a mid plate/blower, an intercooler, and a tuner. Yeah there are some special bolts and such but man we have beaten this horse dead and brought it back to life and killed it again. Not to sound harsh but I had never worked on a 5.4 besides changing the spark plugs and I did the blower swap myself from research and research and more research..its out there look it up. My .02 cents

Yeah, I've not seen a complete guide for a swap yet. jferg92 was talking about doing one. Problem is there are so many different options to consider and every build is different. What MAF to run, fuel system, pullies, cooling system options, tuning, etc. Research would better be served on lightningrodder.com but even then you still won't get a complete picture of all it will take. It's definitely not fit for a novice. And I'm not making any assumptions here. But if you're confident enough and have moderate mechanical skills you can do it. First step is to jump right in and buy a blower and know that you'll be out about 3 grand when all is said and done.
