I have the Flex a Lite kit. Only issue I have ever had was with a fan blade. Called them up and they sent out new blades and a motor. That was several years ago.

It's really all in how you wire it. I didn't use a controller, I just used a relay harness which is a lot more reliable in my opinion. Less stuff to go wrong since it's literally 3 relays, a thermoswitch and some wire. Also I used new OEM replacement windstar fans so the fans don't have a ton of miles on them

I've never driven the 5.0 so I don't know how they compare to a built 5.4.
Why do you need new heads?
definitely are. $2500 on eBay for a pulled motor from a wrecked truck, can't complain much about that.

I have the jegs wiring kit with the 190 degree switch. I added a 3rd, relay in for the AC override. The kit came with the thermoswitch but it would be cheaper to Make your own kit. I'll draw up a diagram for you tonight

It was horribly over heated and the heads are warped beyond financial repair.

Here's the pics of the fans cman. Excuse the mess of wiring and the poorly mounted circuit breakers cleaning all that crap up and making it look nice is next week's project. The only part of the radiator that it doesn't cover is about and inch column on the passenger side

I'm about to go draw a diagram too

Sorry it's a little sloppy. That triangle and dot is the symbol for a diode (I think) having it wired this way will have both the fans come on when the thermoswitch is triggered as long as the ignition is on. It will also alow one of the fans to come on when the AC or heat Is turned on no matter what position the thermoswitch is in.
