An L pig tail will work. But their harness has two plugs and the connector on the end of the harness won't fit our connector(one outside of tank).

1st I cut the wires after the connector (outside the tank)

Remove the 2 thick gauge wires from the plastic grommet, and simply run the new wires from the pump through the plastice piece and connect them to your factory wires by soldering. System will have no issue handling that load.

The 255 pumps are easy to find connectors for.

Ya I was about to say the same thing. I was told to insulate any clamp with rubber and watch the pump at the top of the hat

It's nonferrous, non magnetic.

Both pumps have insulators on them, so no metal touching them. Just the clamp touching the holding bracket.

Simple rtv impervious to gas would work fine if you go that route.

Also here is the pig tail for the L , it won't fit our harness.

I found pigtails for 9.95. That doesn't seem like an issue but after reading through Dave's thread he said the 340 lightning (which I have) have to large of an intake for his NA hat

I didn't have any issues. Pretty sure the ports are close to the same. I know the 342's are thicker around and you need an extension for the clamp to hold them.

Port size should be almost identical.
