Man. That's awesome. A 16 ton press? Don't imagine you could get much better than that. You can't even really distinguish the terminal from the cable.

Yea, that's 16T. So glad I don't have to solder,- solder kills too much power imo, unless you silver solder. Haven't attempted that yet. I will, if I can pull it apart between two vehicles lol. Have to see what goes first, the eyelet or the crimp. The eyelet SHOULD tear before the crimp lets go...if it's good.

Also have to mount that thing to the bench, takes too much *** crimping, I'm a measly 200 lbs . I'll mount it and use a cheater for more control.

Damn, I hate being wrong, but I was in BIG way. Sumbitch! Why didn't you guys tell me...Your fault!

Tinned copper cable IS NOT as conductive as clean copper cable. Like say, the most common type of welding cable. Tin has relatively low conductivity and, when plated over copper, forms an inter-metallic layer which will increase resistance compared to bare/clean copper or silver plated cable. Silver offers extremely high conductivity and will actually reduce the resistance of plated wire.

I new most of that, but I didn't think plating the copper would have that much affect and, - current would be maintained under the plating. You know, the quickest path. Apparently, it doesn't work that way.

How much does it matter ? Not totally sure, yet, -but here are some conductivity #'s , Higher the better -

Silver 63 10 to the 6th
Copper 59.6 10 to the 6th
Gold 45.2 10 to the 6th
Aluminum 37.7 10 to the 6th
Tin 9.17 10 to the 6th

Embarrassing, this is like a novice mistake. But, I have to get it right or it's just BS. Not a rep I want.

You were always in the back of my mind for some reason.

I was just going to edit again. I figured hell, most probably still don't know what I'm babbling on about. So I was going to opt in another word for wrong.

Well, that bubble burst lol.

Why not break out the grinder & take the layer of tin off?

Wish I could. There's about 5600 strands, completely plated. I'd make a big mess, - I'd probably get sucked into the bench grinder attempting such a thing lol.

Yea , its plated around each strand. It's a wash. Sucks, I have about 25' of 1/0 and 8' of 2awg. I don't even want to add all that up lol.

Oh, gotcha. I thought you were talking about just the terminal. Yup. Back to the drawing board.
