Whitey....I hate to say this, but the Mark VIII fan is a higher flow motor than even the Super Coupe. It is a Mark VIII fan only. Here is the rockauto link to verify that. This is why the Mark fan is the most popular for volume fan. Not the easiest to find, but the motor fits the Taurus frame, so you could always swap to the high flow motor.

Mine is the 2 speed version - you posted the 1 speed version.

Forgot to put the source of my first pic: http://www.pro-touring.com/threads/5...o-Speed-or-Not

The rest are my actual fan.

White89,
So you cut the Taurus shroud to fit inside the Mustang shroud. I never thought about it. When the fan runs, air is pulled over the area that Taurus shroud covers. But when the vehicle moves, the entire area of the Mustang shroud is cooled. And it doesn't look ugly because cuts are hidden. Smart approach indeed!!! Thank you for showing me the photos again.

The threads I read were about cutting F150 shroud. All cuts were in plain view. Didn't look professional.

Since I already bought a fan, let me check first if it can be cut to fit inside F150 shroud. If not, I will get a Mark8 fan and copy your approach. 2010+ F150 fan is the second option. Thank you.

Those 2010+ fans used to be pretty pricey - but I've seen them on Ebay for under a bill now.

WOW.... look at this:

Hey White...I have a link I followed from www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2006/10/mark8fan
but the link doesn't come up anymore. I get the infamous 404. Does no good to save links if they get rid of them. LOL

I understand what you are talking about. I see how you are showing it. When I did mine in 2011, I went with this writeup but now I can't find it. I used the parts list and mine operates at 2 speeds. I believe it is the controller that changes the speed control when it his 199 I believe.

I look at it this way, if it looks decent and works like you want, what ever combination you find useful, is the best way to do it. Too many write ups and half go one direction, and most don't show the trick you posted. I did similar. I thought I posted pics one time when you and I were talking a couple years ago or so. I guess I need to go into the archives and dig up my pics.

Nice, but they don't ship to Alaska. I'n going to go see if the 2012 that is on Craigsllist and see if it's good. The radiator was only 50 so I'll bet the fan, if it's there wouldn't be any more. I'll have to call him tomorrow for lil Red. Thanks for the memory kick.

The cuts actually didn't look too bad. I used an oscillating saw, and I actually did it all freehand too. The oscillating saw cut through it like butter.

This really has me wanting to get my truck going, lol. I don't drive it much anymore, but it is on standby for snow right now. The project will take me a while, because I want it to look factory as possible.

F150 fan is $78 and perfect fit according to the photos that white89 linked. Drawback is that the radiator needs to come out for bracket fab and installation. Taurus/Mark8 fan is most likely available from JY. Radiator doesn't need to be removed for fitting. I am leaning toward F150 fan. I just sent a message to the ebay seller for current draw.

I ran across this picture in my photos.... just one of my many trips to the wrecking yard putting kits together for people. I was selling a lot of these to Jeep guys that frequent Moab.

Top two fans are 3.8 Taurus fans.... think the bottom one is a T-Bird/Cougar fan. The relays are all out of Volvo's.

I also used to kit up these Hayden fans.... sold about 20 of these, then discovered the Taurus fans were better and easier to sell. The Hayden 3700 is a really good fan (IIRC, though, the Taurus fan pulls double CFM)! It's a 16 incher.
