Default ecm install

looking for advise on changing ecm on 1997 f150, 4.6 liter, does ecm need flashed after install?

Depends, if you find an ECM that is the exact same code as yours with all the exact same specs then no. But if it is an ECM you buy at Autozone or from a salvage yard from a truck with the same code but different year or different set up then yes reflash.

will 2002 thru 2005 dodge 20 in rims fit a 1997 f150 ford 4x4?

I am in the process of changing my ecm on my 1997 f150, is it located under dash or under battery box?

The back end of it is under the dash on the passenger side but the plugs are under the battery box and are secured to the ECM with a screw. So you need to take out the battery box, unscrew the cable connections then pull the ECM out from under the dash.
