Default Duplicolor fail

So today I got home and decided to fix the paint chips and bad scratches on my rear bumper. I put bondo on everything and it was going fine. I sprayed the Duplicolor Perfect Match on and let it dry. Well, after removing my masking tape and paper I realized that the paint is darker than what the body looks like. I previously used it on my grill and it looks great, actually matches. But on the bumper it's a bit darker. What do I do? Can I remove it? Do I just paint the whole bumper so it matches? I don't think it will look terrible completely painted but it looks weird when it's side by side. Please help.

what do you want us to say? You can either,
A- Leave it
B- Sand it all off, and try and find the correct colour / just paint over it
C- Paint the whole bumper
D- Sell the truck and buy a new one.

Those are your choices.

If you prime it with the same primer the factory uses it should match. darker the primer, darker the finish color i do believe

paint the whole bumper, this is a 10+ year old truck, paint will fade, the reason the paint doesnt match is cause you painted a patch, and were not able to blend the color. your best bet is to just paint the whole bumper.

A lot of our colors are base/color/clear. If you sand through the paint, you'll probably find another color underneath before you hit primer.
The Duplicolor is just a color match, so it normally won't actually be a "Perfect Match" (rimshot).
Even if you have an auto paint shop mix a can, it won't be exactly the same because of the process used in the factory.
Paint the entire bumper.

Definitely paint the whole bumper. Even if it was done professionally, with actual "perfectly matching" paint, it would look like crap if only part of it was painted. You can't have a clear tape line for something like this. It's next to impossible for that to work and not be obvious what's old and what's new.

Ringleader, what the hell is your quote from? Finally tried to look it up and got nothin.

My sig quote? It's from a "washer fluid light" thread that got completely out of control, lol. A bunch of us ended up cursing each other and name calling because some of us want a low washer fluid light and some think it's a stupid idea. For me, his quote was the one that changed my anger to laughter, so I saved it, lol.

Ah, couldn't find that specific thread, but just got some pretty good laughs from some other ones about the same thing haha.
