Ok gents, and ladies too, dumb question here. What exactly is a 7700 and can my F150 be converted to one to make it a little more heavy duty? I searched the forums and couldn't find what I was looking for. Sorry if there is already a thread on this. Any help is appreciated.

Crap, might as well just by a F250 then huh?

What's the towing capacity on it?

I like the super duties better, 2007 and prior that is. I just found a good deal on my 150. I love my truck but I sure do miss my'01 250 with the V10, didn't really have to worry about what I was towing too much then, lol. I would like to put some beefier springs up under that weak rear end though, loaded her up with a camper top and household goods and she squatted more than I liked, especially considering it has the towing package on it. She's supposedly rated to tow 10,500 lbs per the owners manual and the set up she has on her, but if that 1500 lbs load made her squat that little bit I'd hate to see what a trailer with 10,500 lbs would do. Maybe I should upgrade the leaf springs.

If you're planning on buying after market wheels for just buy an F-250. Wheels for the 7lugs are nearly impossible to find.

Yeah and you springs are probably wore out compared to brand new. do an aal or bags. bags will do way more than you need aal is fairly cheap.

Thanks for the info guys, definitely planning on doing something to heavy duty the rear though. I don't mind the rougher tide as it's a truck for one and I used to drive a super duty so I'm used to it.

If you want a little more towing capability install heavier leafs in the rear or air bags like was suggested. Also a brake controller and a larger transmission cooler.
If you have the 9.75 rear diff then your good to go! There very strong and comparable to a Dana 60 in strength. Also some load range D or E tires are a good idea.
