So two yellow tops will fit in the original tray side by side?

I don't know lol I removed the stock tray and mounted my own also I believe you can fit two in that location easier if you mount them sideways

I'll have to do some measuring the ballistic fab trays looked sweet and are very affordable but I'd like to keep it as clean as possible under the hood

I have a second battery mounted in my tool box. I also have a 3 position selector switch mounted next to the original battery. I have a A B C selection. Where pos A is the original battery, pos B being my second battery, and position C being both batteries in parallel. I use to Optima Marine Deep Cycle batteries that are 1500CCA@32*.

Here is mine I cleaned up the wire little since I took this all zero gauge sub wire
