Default Driveshaft measurements

So I got my '98 without a rear driveshaft. No big deal, the guy gave me one he pulled out of the junkyard with the truck. Here's my issue now... First off, that driveshaft is somehow about 2-3 inches too long, and has the wrong T-case end on it. I've looked high and low for a driveshaft that will fit my truck and they are no where to be found so I give up. Does anyone have any lengths/sizes for the right fitting driveshaft? Or any suggestions on how to properly measure for one so I can get mine cut to the correct length. The truck is a '98 extended cab long bed. It has the 5.4, automatic tranny, and an electric T-case.
