I've replaced 2 intakes one with a doorman and another was a cheaper one forget teh brand name I got off amazon for a 4.6 in a town car. The doorman was a 5.4 and the intake itself has a warrantee if its defective you can send it back and get a new one. Are you sure its got a leak and the plug holes just dont have anti feeze in them from removing the old intake. Blowing the holes out is a must..

Not absolutely sure it;s leaking, i might have left some coolant in there. Or I might have screwed up the instalation in some other way.
But still, the Dorman is junk. It uses sheet metal screws instead of metal inserts and machine threads, It just feels cheap.
I'm thinking about doing the timing chain guides so the intake will come off again anyway. My question was just about whether it would be smart to look for an original Ford intake at the junkyard.
I did see an aluminum one but some things were different so i'm not sure I'd want to mess with it and the OEM plastic one lasted 160,000 miles.
