Discovered rust on my roof
So I discovered rust on my roof today while washing it. Its not bad but still want to address this before it escalates to more than surface rust. What are some good rust converters/preventers until I can get it re painted?

Wire wheel that bad boy until it's clean and put some rust preventative on it:

Don't paint over rust.
Eastwood has something like it:
http://www.eastwood.com/paints/rust-solutions.html?brand=939?SRCCODE=MN200230&utm_sour ce=msn&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term={keyword}&utm_campa ign=Brand-Eastwood
Since it is on paint I wouldn't use this as it is acidic and may harm the rest of the paint when applying:

But if you ever do bare sheet metal or a frame it is good. I've used it.
Hardware store Naval Jelly isn't all it's cracked up to be IMHO.
Rust doesn't go away if you cover it, you have to remove it, isolate the metal from oxygen etc.
