Default diff breathers

I want to extend the axle vents, transfer case vent, and gear box vent on my truck.

I am not seeing a kit online for it so I have devised a plan.

best I can tell the hose is 5/16 ID

so my plan is to get some longer hose, some extra vents (barbs) and some pneumatic filters, a bracket, and a coupler to attatch the the filters to the new barbs.

I am thinking that the barb on the top side of the transfer case, the gear box, and the axles are all the same.

is this correct? am I going to run into any problems in my plan?

Nope. That will work. I'd use the GM style plastic vents with the green covers. I believe the HELP line has them at the local parts stores. Good luck with the extensions.

I've been looking at switching to the Toyota breathers. They are pretty robust.

Dorman 924-262 is the part number.

my understanding is that toyota has a different thread pattern than ford on the diffs. That is why kits like the ARB dont fit the f150.

If I am not mistaken ford has 27 threads per inch and toyota has 28.

I'm putting it on the end of the hose, replacing the plastic piece.
