Hopefully you're not in my boat....158k and a burned up exhaust valve.......a compression test can rule that out.

Compression was 140 everything checks out with that. But I discovered clear granules that are sweet in the filler neck.

Antifreeze? Check for carbon monoxide in coolant.

How do I do this? I'm sorry for the lack of knowledge and appreciate your advice.

There is a tool sold by blockchek.com that tests for it. You pull sample from radiator reservoir and check it. If you find any you may have a blown head gasket. Is you oil milky in color or does your idle worsen when car warms up?

I was having the same issues are you lossing coolant? I was so I thought maybe it was an intake manifold gasket so I started taking the intake down and when I got the intake manifold off I found a pretty big chunk kissing where my coolant crossover meets my manifold. I also found coolant, oil, and some water in my apart plug holes. I cant get a new intake till the end of the month so idk if that's the only problem. Check your wires going to the cylinder that's having the miss, maybe there's a short.

Filler neck as in gas filler neck? Clear granules that are sweet in that area........you my friend sounds like sugar in the fuel tank.....make any enemies lately?

Change your fuel filter asap add two big bottles of techron fuel system cleaner.....close to an empty tank the better then fill up and see if your miss gets better. May not be a bad idea to drop drain and flush out your fuel tank if this is the case.

Yes I did it's inevitable in the construction industry to make enemies. And yes it was the gas filler neck. And I am dropping the tank today cleaning it out really good changing fuel filter and see how she runs then. I jut hope I don't have to pull fuel rail to get whatever's in 7 out! I'm hoping new fuel and some cleaner with push it through.
