Hello all I am really trying to find a correct fit tool to test the compression on my 97 ford f150 4.6l. I have been unable to find the correct adapter hand have spent more than 100 buck on the wrong ones
IF anyone out there knows a manufacture or part number or even a complete kit that is made for testing PRE 2003 4.6l Trition Please let me know so i can get the right one. I do not wish to rent. i would like to own my own..
Please don't guess I need someone that acutauly has the right information that has done this and has the manufacture and part number i can buy. I have wasted too much money trying to get the right one.
This is the one I was told was for Modulars. I'll be honest, although I bought almost 4 years ago, I've never tried it. BUT, this is what I was told to get. Pretty sure someone on here recommended it.
The threading is way too short to even fit low enuff in to the spark plug threds. Since you said you have not tryed, it I would take the time to test it. if it actualy works I will eat my words. but the 4.6l pre 2003 has a deep hole ang the threeds are low in the hole.
You might browse around Makuloco's videos. He lists a variety of testers and adapters. Might see one you haven't tried. I linked his video page and a few videos below. Different engine but more to look at.
Those long tubular pipe-style adapters will give lower pressure numbers. The big open tube adds to the combustion chamber volume. Something to be aware of.
