What's the difference between the stock snorkel and the mod?

The stock intake narrows down right where it enters the fender. The gotts mod replaces that part with a larger piece of PVC pipe (or whatever you use) to make the entire intake the same size. Some say better air flow from it, I don't think it makes any difference at all.

It can make a difference in the higher RPM ranges with a good filter. I would probably take the time to pull the intake and make sure that bad boy is clean as a whistle while I was at it.

I don't agree with you assertions on the Modulars. With the right intake, these can be a monster and the CAI alone can gain you up to 15HP with only a small 87 octane tune.

I can actually agree on the Ford V6's. They are quite adaptable with a good CAI and a good tune. I did this very upgrade for my other Mustang with the 4.0 Cologne motor. What was weak and unimpressive, became a beast when I went to a JBL CAI and used a Bama tune. The torque curve with the tune, and the open CAI, made an additional almost 15 HP. The damn dual exhaust system didn't gain a bit.
