its not very loud but I hear it when I'm driving close to a building or passing a parked car. I dont think its oil. because i cant hear it from under the hood. its a 1-1-1-1-1 pattern no skips etc and increases with the rpm, I tend to hear it on older trucks but mine has only 70,000 miles

possibly an exhaust manifold leak, might want to get it checked out
