CIPA Tow mirror signal lights?

My buddy on a dodge forum said these will work. He said you have to massage them into the mirror (cut a little deeper) I'm not sure If its true but he has the same tow mirrors I bought for my truck (****) and they look pretty good. he told me to double check the measurements on the mirror itself.
he also said that the mirror curves around the front so in order to get the lights to sit flush you need to cut into the mirror a little bit but he said it would work..
