Branching off your ideas tugs90 and chavita28, I got one but idk if its worth it. It's a little more custom so how about some opinions... Take our mirrors and on the far side of the mirror housing take a strip of side emitting LED's in red to serve as the same purpose as the arrow ones you posted above. The strip would be on the inside with LED's facing back(obviously). Splice that into your blinker power and ground wires.. Instead of an arrow of course you'd have just a vertical strip of red lights.

Blue would seem cool. I think I'm gunna give it a try... Doesn't seem like it would be too costly or wasteful and damaging. Ill go red though and see how that looks and post pics when I get to it. Hopefully not too long.

mmmm, im liking that idea. very cheap and easy!!
I like the idea of blue, and if a cop stops you you can just be like that's how it was when I bought it. lol cops down here in south east Louisiana have been getting pressured from there's bosses into being stricter and writing more tickets. got stopped the other day for doing 56 mph in a 55,
-_- when the cop told me that I said really dude? I understand y'all are being pressured but seriously? he said yea man just doin what the superiors say but he told me slow down an let me go. then another one stopped me cuz he thought my blinkers were red when they are yellow, he was just stopping me looking for something to really give me a ticket for. off topic i know but sorry for the rant been pulled over 10 times in the last 3 weeks for stupid stuff like that......
