Just wondered. I'm not very computer capable. I understand the principles of tuning with a laptop or tuner, but my experience is with carb jets and distibuter springs. Is electronic tuning better, probably. Either way your changing fuel and timing parameters.
If me1234 wants to use a carb instead of Fi wats it to you. If he's messing with his truck the way he wants and is enjoying it that what matters

Yeah like the others say... putting a carb on a 4.6 is lame. Nothing good can come of it.

Default Efi to carb

I’ll tell you why. Because I’ve had it with the efi bull****! Replaced every part of fuel system ( some things multiple times) and keep having new issues. Just spending money on something I can’t drive because efi constantly something wrong.

I got no idea what you're doing but EFI is a tiny tiny fraction of the trouble of carbs. You should consider paying somebody to fix your vehicle. EFI...is virtually troublefree for life of vehicle.

Yeah, the kit isn't even available anymore from them. It's definitely not even a streetable kit with a single plane intake. definitely for racing applications only. Carbs aren't very difficult to tune and get right. The darn computer control carb setups are a huge pain. Lets just go back to the early 80's with the computer controlled carbs. Talk about a real pita. Either all carb no computer, except electronic ignition, or fuel injection. Don't do the combination crap.

Ha! Trouble free for life of vehicle? You are sadly mistaken. EFI is full of electronic parts which fail often and need replaced. I admit EFI is better, when it’s working.

Ive owned efi vehicles since 1989. Most past 200k. A few past 300k. Probably about 1.6 million miles driving . Only thing thats failed i recall has been a few fuel pumps at high mileage. One TPS. One MAP.

Never even needed to change an O2 sensor, just did proactively.

Only thing changed on my F-150 at 325k is a fuel pump...O2 sensors. And it was still working fine, the check valve just leaked pressure off. The oxygen sensors were fine too no change with new ones.

EFI is incredibly reliable. Use OEM parts...not chinese. Find a better mechanic.

Sounds like Sick needs to find a mechanic with a code reader and leave the "mechanic" with the parts cannon.

I can understand the tension of someone finding a dead, seven year old post, then signing up to a forum, just to make their first post to fuss at people, who may not even be around after seven years. It is very frustrating to be screwed by a scheister mechanic.

Yeah, this simply isn't true. What parts are you having fail and needing to replace?
