Car Audio Question

Ok people, I want to upgrade the stock speakers in my truck but want to make sure that what the Crutchfield guy is telling me is correct. Can I put 6X8's in my front doors and in the rear? Or should I just stick with 5X7's?

Thanks in advance for your help. If you have any brand suggestions throw them my way too.

5x7=6x8 SAME thing, if you have any slight wood working skills i would say get 6.5 components and make a plate out of a piece of wood and do that for the 5x7 slot, it will be alot better sound

Thats what I figured. I think I will stick with the 6X8's for now. Thanks buddy.

it is really worth it to get the components, it allows you to stage the sound alot better, plus a good set of components is about the price of a good set of coax's

Yeah that's actually what I am looking at right now. I just don't know how good I am with wood lol.

its not hard at all, just take your stock speakers and trace the outside of it, that way yo have the tabs and everything then take a jigsaw and cut it, then cut out the hole for the mid, its quite simple if you think about it

alot of people dont wanna do it because they think its hard, but the easiest way is one of the best in this case

Yeah, I may just have one of my friends do it. He is the guy that used to do the custom installs and such here at Circuit City.

Oh I will. I appreciate your help dude. What brand do you recommend? I really like the Polk components but wanted to get a few different opinions.
