Default Cant disconnect fuel line from filter.

Tying to replace my fuel filter. I'm using the 5/16 disconnect tool and when I try separating it's not budging. And when I pull it out a lot of rust/dirt is on the end of the tool. Anything I can safely spray in there, degreaser? Carb cleaner? Any ideas on how to get this thing off? I am using the plastic tool.

Did you undo the safety clips and turn them?

I'm having the same problem, what is the trick? How did you finally get the ends to disconnect?

I could get my tool all the way in place. I just could pull it off with my bare hand so I got pliers and gripped the silver end of the line while the tool was in and just turned and pulled. More gas came out than expected. Even when I opened gas cap. Hope this helps you!

With these things you just have to fight with them for 5-10 minutes. The key is to push in towards the filter then pull out while the tool is in place.

Yeah I found the best way to do it is just get the tool in place and grab a pair of pliers and grip the hose fitting and turn and pull. A lot easier than trying to force it with ur hands and bust up ur knuckles

your also suppose to blead the pressure off the system first. removing the gas cap does not so it. Pull the fuel pump fuse and try starting it to release pressure.
