canister vent valve soleniod blues
While working on front breaks my 02 fell off the jack stands, got it back up and finished the job. When I went to start it the service engine soon light, and low fuel light came on, and the fuel gauge will barely move up when key is turned. It's throwing a code for the canister vent valve solenoid, so I replaced it. Now I turn the key to start and all gauges max out, go back to zero then to where they should be except for the fuel gauge and the service engine soon and low fuel lights. Drove it to parts store and drove normal. Please help.

Interesting... sounds to me like a possible GEM issue. Any relays randomly clicking? If it's a Electronic 4x4, do all of the lights show up (in the instrument cluster) for the 4X4 system, and does it click in and out? Power windows still work?

What got hit when it fell ? I mean something obviously happened on the way down, luckily your alright. One of the stands most likely pierced or grounded something out....took out a harness. Look for damage in the stand areas. Also post the DTC your getting. Sounds like a damaged harness since your getting gauge sweeps and malfunctions. Gauge sweeps occur with PATS problems.

If your scenario is correct Brew, I would suspect a P01000 code will be what he gets.

I mean like it wasn't part of the programming. It was left out. Over the years a few of us came to that conclusion. While some vehicles will, others won't. So you can't count on it when it should be there anyway. None of my trucks in the past would show one. That's 2 98's, a 99 and a 01.
