Default Can you fit a double din radio?

Is it possible to fit a double din radio in a 98 F150? I have an aftermarket single din one in right now, but it just looks boring to me.

This is the one i'm looking into getting.

It says it comes with installation gear and that it fits my truck, but I really just want to make sure someone else has a double din in theirs before I order it.

Yes you can fit a double din. It came with a double din from the factory. Depending on height you might have to trim a little bit. But it will look good. I have had two different double dins in mine.

I have an '03 Super Crew and I installed a JVC KW-NT3HDT double din nav unit using a Metra install kit and a lot of very careful cutting. It definitely took awhile, but the results looked pretty good. [Hopefully my pic uploaded properly!]

Not sure how similar the dash is between our year models, though.

technically the factory one is 1 3/4 tall. all you gotta do is some trimming and shell slide right in

I will be doing this to my truck on Saturday because I am putting on a DVD player..

Remove metal bracket above radio. Cut out inner dash above the bracket, install, done...

I'll let you know how it goes Sat.

I ordered my DVD player from the same company. I looked at all of the big names. The reason why I went with Kenwood was price, style, ease of use, etc. I played with it at Best Buy before I ordered.

Thanks for all the replies guys..just got off the phone with the company I just bought mine from, they assured me that it would work. So we'll see how it goes.
