Hi guys i'm new here so not to sure how it works. My question is, i have 01 f150 4.6 xlt ext 2wd. need to know if i can replace my 01 4.6 with a 2001 5.4 and if there is alot of changes if any. would i have to switch trannys or computers. a quick answer would be great as i have a 5.4 lined up with only 50,000 kms on it as my 4.6 blew up yesterday, thank you

 

My truck has the 4.6 and I'm trying to sell it, cause my compression is weak and I have a blown head gasket. I used alumaseal and it's not burning coolant anymore, but I know this engine won't last for a long time. I have 188k miles on it. If the engine goes before I sell the truck, I'm dropping a 5.4 in. It's a direct bolt up, swap the computer and you're good to go.

Assuming you're referring to a gen 10 motor. Not unless your 4six is a 3V lol.
