That is goofy.

I bet it looks like the truck is doing a wheelie down the interstate.

7800 lbs tows it real well, would be nice to have some 4:11 gears though. That pic is before I did my add a leaf and added a large aftermarket trans cooler.

Stupid question but I have a 01 4.2 v6 longbed. How do you think I would do with a slide in camper?

I used to be a service manager of a local RV dealers, and we would not install a camper on the SCrews. We would install a Shadow Cruiser (light weight camper) on the F250ld's (7700's) but none weighing over 1000 lbs. We were pretty limited on full hard sided campers (Northern Lights and the Shadow Cruisers) were the only hard sides that fit the bill. The pic with the SCrew is a popup style, not full hard sided. There were 3 companies at the time that had the campers that fit our needs. We didn't install many campers on the Light Duties. The SuperDuty's threw everyone for a loop also when they first came out also. The roof line is 3 inches higher than a stock pickup, so the campers would rub the roof without raising the camper floor off the bed. We built special 3 inch frames to completely strengthen the floors. We were a BigFoot camper dealer, and even their light weight 1500 series was just too heavy for the F250ld's. They made a special unit for them, and it still squat like a dog. Our insurance finally stepped in and told us that they wouldn't allow us use the campers on the F250lds. We were a summer RV rental company also, so this is why we had to remove the LD's. We went to Super Duty's for the following year for our fleet leases. The Gen 10's just weren't strong enough for the weight and when you hang 2 more feet off the tail, you have steering problems and weight distribution problems. JMO of course, but I did this work for quite a while and saw the problems.

The 97-03 F150's use a different frame mount design also. There is a place in Kelona BC that makes specialty mounts for our 150s. These bolt to the frame behind the cab and off the rear bumper receiver ends. It works out quite nicely, but still a set of Firestone air bags help greatly with the weight problems.

It was around 9grand loaded so yes I was over. But as you can see I had the hitch set up properly and the whole unit rode level, I also have a 10 grand + trans cooler and a sct. The truck handled the weight very well and would even pull hills going up north with little problem. I drive semi for a living so I am comfortable with weight , again only with everything properly setup.
