Calling all boosted 5.4's: build / setup concerns
Sorry if I've beaten this one to death. But i want to research EVREYTHING before i start my build in the next week or so. I have a few question's needing answered so i don't blow up my engine.
Setup: lightning manifold and mostly stock lightning parts. I've determined my lower pulley is approx 8.5" Stock upper. Single walbro 255, stock injectors, LFP 9-row intercooler, stock h/e, NGK TR6 plugs. Will get a full blown dyno tune for 91 octane. Most driving at 5280ft (colorado). Driving habits will be occasionally spirited and might see the track 4-6 times over the summer. Otherwise DD. Tows about 4-5000 lbs a few times a year.
Question 1: Whats the stock boost limit on a regular f150 5.4? I've heard 8-10, but cant verify
Question 2: With the 8.5" lower, stock upper, at approx 5280ft; what's the ballpark for my total boost level?
Question 3: Do the aftermarket cageless pullies bolt onto the stock crank pulley with no modificaton? or is the lightning crank pulley unique?
Question 4: Would an afco h/e lower IAT2 Temp's thus adding more reliability and extend engine life? I'm not sure if it's really worth it yet...
Thanks again guys!
