Do you have any tips for the silencer after having done it once?

 

im sure there was an easier way... but i used pliers to get it out.. and just worked the edge rolling it inward where it look all crumpled in... took me 20 mins to get it out... lol once u get it to start to go doooooonnnnt stop lol the link i gave ya should do better than my idea of removing it.... it was a pain!!!!

 

^^ I used the same technique on mine too, It was a pain for me as well, but definitely worth it. Like I always say I've got lots more time than money.

 

Ive made a quality pvc intake, with a k&n, if that makes any sence, only because i couldnt find my K&N C.A.I.

I also have a K&N C.A.I. I have since found, and a valont C.A.I.

And i dont see any significant gains at all from one over the other!

 

That's exactly what I was thinking, I'll probably make one at some point. I did the Gotts mod today and I love it, the throttle response is definitely a lot better. I was doing 55 in 2nd and it was still gaining speed, didn't seem to phase it but I don't have a tach so I couldn't say what my RPMs were at. The intake on the 4.2 is a bit different than the V8s so I'm not exactly sure where the silencer is so if anyone out there has done the silencer mod on the 4.2 any info would be awesome.
